A Survey
A survey normally takes about an hour and comes with no obligations. It’s really just for us to look at your roof and have a chat with you about your options. This is a great opportunity for you to quiz us so please do have a think about what you want to know.
We will start by taking a look at your roof from the outside and talking with you about what you want from the system yourself. We would then ideally access your roof to check it suitability and check your consumer unit (fuse box) will be compatible with solar PV. It’s also really helpful if you have your electricity bills to hand at the time of the survey.
We will be looking to determine:
- How many panels you could fit and what system you may want
- Any potential losses due to shading
- The condition of your roof and its suitability for installing the panels
- The possible placement of the inverter, which is approximately the size of three shoe boxes and needs a little bit of ‘breathing ’ space. It would normally be fixed inside your loft space or aside your existing consumer unit
- The possible routing of cables to your consumer unit (fuse box)
- The suitability of your current fuse box and mains supply
- Any access or planning issues
- Your MPAN number (this is a unique supply number on your electricity bill)
